We attended the preview session of the co-op yesterday and I went ahead and signed up. From now until the end of May, Miles and I will be attending for 2 hrs once a week. I already feel a little out of the loop since the orientation was late last year so all the other parents knew each other and what to expect, there was also an entire playgroup in the class, but everyone was really friendly. It was nice to get out of the house and they set it up so that each week half the parents run the stations and the other half get a chance to sit around and chat without their babies and then it flips the next week. Miles really liked being around all the other kids, until he hit a wall and just needed a nap RIGHT THIS MINUTE, and he really liked all the new toys. He started to get less shy as it went on so I have a feeling that he will be more comfortable as the weeks go on and won’t feel the need to spend most of the class in my lap. Also, since I am nothing if not an overachiever, we have another preview day set up next week at a different co-op and if that goes well I will probably sign up for that too. Operation stop being a hermit seems to be in full effect.
