French toast and watching Carolina beat NC State equals a perfect morning. Or it will, as long as Carolina actually gets the job done. If they start this game like they usually do, letting the game get away from them by 10 or 15 points, then that french toast might not have been such a good idea.

The best thing about not having any food in the house? Having an excuse to stop at in n out on the way to my doctor’s appointment.

I just packed up all my scrubs to store in the attic since I needed more room in my closet and I won’t be at work for at least a few more months. There’s also a good chance that by the time I go back we will have uniforms so I won’t need all my cute scrubs. I consider this my big accomplishment for the week.

Yesterday a couple of friends came over with their babies who are around 9-10 months old. They both crawl and can pull themselves to stand and reach for things and it made me realize one thing, our house is not kid friendly. We have a trunk that we use as a coffee table that has sharp corners and metal handles and latches, lamps that are very light weight and easy to pull over, cords all over the...

judiism replied to your post: We just had the best dinner of roasted chicken and… what do you do w/the chicken? The recipe is from Zuni Cafe in SF and it’s easy but takes some planning. I take a small whole chicken, roughly 2.5-3.5 pounds, and rub it down with salt and pepper. The mixture is about 3/4 tsp salt per pound of chicken and however much pepper you like. Concentrated on...

saraplainandtall replied to your post:We just had the best dinner of roasted chicken and… Those brussel sprouts sound amazing. They were really easy too. I used about a pound of brussel sprouts cut in half and sauteed them until light golden brown in olive oil over med heat. Then I added a couple of slices of diced bacon and cooked everything until the sprouts were nicely browned and the...

We just had the best dinner of roasted chicken and brussel sprouts. I always make Zuni Cafe’s roast chicken, it is my favorite way to eat chicken ever. In fact, it is one of the very few ways that I think chicken actually tastes good. We did brussel sprouts with bacon and balsamic vinegar as a side because I had it the other day after a doctor’s appt and I really wanted to do something...

I have a friend who posted on facebook about her trouble finding a preschool for her toddler recently. She wanted to start her in the fall but the schools she’s looking at in the city all have at least a year long wait list and the best ones require you to sign up before you child is born. I’m a bit blown away by this information, just like I was completely surprised by the fact that...

Our toilet died. We only have one bathroom so we no longer have a functioning toilet in the house. We got a new one and we are having it installed later today but this is the second time during this pregnancy that we have had non-functioning bathroom and I think that’s a little bit funny.

The dog’s staring me down with his I’d really like a walk or a car ride face. I opened the window for him but I guess that was just a tease because now he wants out. I could put him in the backyard but all he would do is lay up against the sliding glass door and mope.

dontcallmeval: You know how sometimes you’ll think “man, what did we do before email” or “wow, life without electricity. that’s weird.” OH MY GOD TUMBLR BRING BACK THE REPLY BUTTON.
Jan 25th
fauxprose: srmarymartha: This is a PSA. Tumblr is fake unfollowing people for me. You still appear on my dash, but suddenly I can’t reply, and if I go to your page, the follow button is there instead of unfollow. you stop that, tumblr. Spam-replying my life. This was a PSA. This has been happening to me all day too. It’s doing it to me too. Not funny tumblr, not funny at all.

You know what makes this whole having issues with the pregnancy thing seem more real? Filing disability paperwork with my employer and the state. Having a diagnosis of preterm labor written out and on record. For some reason, it was like a punch to the gut and I’m a bit surprised by that. I know what’s going on with my body and I know that this kiddo will most likely be term and that I...

I’m making the chocolate peanut spread from smitten kitchen this afternoon. The doctor said I could get up to cook which means I’m just going to have to start baking more so I have something to occupy my time.

I’ve spent my morning looking at the menus of all the restaurants that I want to try. Not sure when I will get the chance given this whole confined to the couch thing but I have a list of places ready.

I’m watching say yes to the dress and her parents are spending half a million dollars on two weddings and have spent 17k on one dress and she is currently shopping for her second one. I can’t even imagine having half a million dollars, let alone spending it on a wedding, but I love watching how over the top this stuff gets.

Just left lunch with agirlnamedstewart!

I love being able to watch espn3 online. I didn’t think I’d be able to watch Carolina play tonight because it’s on a stupid pay station out here but online TV to the rescue. Good thing since husband has a dinner meeting tonight so it’s just me and the dog til late and there is only so much reading I can do before I go cross eyed.

We… I’ve heard WONDERFUL things about the Dyson and can tell you right now that my 4 year old Bissell does nothing with Bodhi’s hair except for roll it into lines I have to pick up off of the carpet. Have you considered a roomba? We have considered a roomba but the reviews I’ve read say it work...

We are thinking of getting a dyson pet vacuum. We have hardwood floors and have been getting by with sweeping/mopping but we never seem to be able to get everything up and it drives both of us crazy. We also don’t want to end up with a baby that gets hairballs so we need to do something differently. Have you used any of their pet vacuums? Are they worth the money?

I’m thinking that the limited activity idea may not agree with me. I was on/off my feet for about an hour last night and I had 16 contractions each lasting just over a minute. I was told to go to the hospital again if I had over 12 but I conveniently ignored that piece of information because I knew they would decrease once I laid down again and they did. I only had 5 in an hour once I was...

I’m watching My First Place and the couple they are following put an offer on a house not only without being preapproved but without having a clear idea of what their credit scores are and how they play into getting approved. It makes me cringe just watching it.

I’m watching the tarheels play but it might be better if I was watching the Globes. This team is so frustrating, the way they fall behind first thing no matter how bad the team and then have to dig themselves out. I’m pretty sure I am getting way more worked up than my OB would like. We are so much better than last year but the team still has a long way to go.

emmysnacks replied to your post: I just went through all my books on the kindle to… I was super excited about kindlelendingclub.com too, but NONE of my books are lendable. Boo. kindle lending is not nearly as useful as I imagined since most books aren’t lendable. I’m hoping this changes as publishers get more comfortable with the format. If anyone is interested, I have...
