Grammys it is. Sigh.
I just checked the score and was shocked. I don’t know why I keep expecting them to get their act together and why it surprises me that they still don’t get it but I do and I am.
Husband was singing along with the radio on the way home from the dog park and the dog started howling. Either he really doesn’t like it when husband sings or the dog is also a Zepplin fan. I like to think he was just trying to sing along, too.

I’m off to work tonight. Last night I ended up not having to go in which was oh so nice and I keep forgetting that I work tonight because usually if I don’t work Friday, I don’t work Saturday. After tonight, I have three days off and I can’t wait. I love what I do but I hate staying up all night and 3 days of sleeping like a normal person makes me really happy.
Lets see...

Today I got my paycheck and then went and got my nose pierced. Let’s hope it goes better than the last times I had it done.
I can’t wait to see it. A puppy would also have been a good purchase.

This is one of my favorite places to go. It is always on my list of recommendations when people want to know what I like in SF.
Back from LA and we had such a great time. I took tons of pictures at the Getty, we ate a delicious meal at Lucques, and the concert was beyond what I could have imagined. Now it is time for a nap since I work the next 3 nights and I have my favorite Red dog up on the bed ready to cuddle. It always surprises me how much I miss him when we are gone.
Airborne Toxic Event
Best concert I’ve ever been to. They played everything off their current cd, a bunch of stuff they are putting on their next cd, and some 80s favorites. It was a benefit for the recovery center that the lead singer’s brother works for. It was obviously a very personal event and to be 10 feet away from the band rocked. The energy was through the roof and I’m a fan for life. If you...
Thanks for all the input on the frames. Husband laughed when I told him that I asked Tumblr what their opinion was and the verdict was that they were cute and not at all hipster. I think I should put questions to the internet more often so I can back up my answers with, “Well, Tumblr said so.”
I just got a message on Facebook from a high school friend that I have not talked to since sophomore or junior year. She is getting married and has an appointment to meet the wedding photographer I used and wanted to know pros/cons. I loved my photographer so praising her was easy and it is always fun to talk about weddings but I think it is hilarious the way that Facebook brings a false sense of...

blogsomething:
Every once and a while, a post will pop up on my dashboard about how annoying it is when people call their significant others’ “Husband” or “Hubby” or basically “anything but their real name”. I have to admit, I hate that I do it too!
I would LOVE to feature my husband on my blog and there may very well be a post or two where I sneak a picture in, but out of respect for him and...
Husband got to see Red play in the snow for the first time. He didn’t really believe me that Red loves the snow but I was proved right. It is the only time he is ever fearless. Rain, wind, water, odd textures, loud noises, the unexpected, they all scare him and make him timid. When we let him out in the snow? He bounded out to the valley and disappeared into waist deep snow and it never...

And thusly I do not judge any show based on that first episode. They have a season to wow me before I reach my final verdict.
I don’t give them a whole season but if I like the idea of something I wait at least a few episodes to form an opinion.
Making soft pretzels at the request of my sister’s boyfriend and I love having my house smell like bread. I went to write yeast but that just looked odd to me, maybe because I work in a hospital so when I think yeast I think infection. I think I will stick with saying that my house smells like bread.
If it isn’t apparent by now, I really like science fiction. I loved Battlestar Galactica to the point that I would refer to the characters like they were real people. This is actually a common problem of mine with both TV shows and books. Anyway, Caprica premieres tonight and I am super excited. It is a little less sci-fi since it doesn’t center around humans trying to stay alive...
My aunt just called, they have have been without power for over 24 hrs. It was supposed to be fixed tonight and now it is supposed to be fixed tomorrow night. It may not be. We are still going to go. If I don’t go this weekend it will be a couple of months before I can make it back up there. One of my aunts is currently housebound so the only way for me to see them is to go up there. Husband...
Just got a call from my aunt and they have been out of power for over 24 hrs. It was supposed to be back tonight, it’s not, and now it is supposed to be back around 8 tomorrow night. It might not be. We are still going to go up because I miss them and if I don’t see them this weekend it will be two months before I can make it back up there and like I said, they are pretty much...

“I’m voting for the opposite of Kennedy, because they’ve been there long enough,’’ Hyannis voter Bernice Latham said. “Maybe we’ll have a say, for a change.’’
Quotes like the one above make me very sad and scared for the state of our country. Anyone that talked or saw me yesterday can tell you that I was displeased (to put it mildly) about the results of the special election for the...

Don’t you know that I want to read Harry Potter pantless in my apartment tonight? Don’t you know that we can hang out SOME OTHER time? Don’t you know that I’m lazy and studying to become a hermit/shut-in for when I have to live on my own?
But NOOOOOO…..you had to go being born 27 years ago today. You have to throw it in my face that we haven’t seen each other for almost a...
I am a giant sap and the LOST episode Greatest Hits totally makes me bawl. I love Charlie and watching him go through the best moments of his life and preparing to die just gets me every time.
Edited to add: I forgot about Charlie telling Hurley he was too big to go with them. That part also makes me bawl. Going on record to say that Charlie is one of my favorite characters and I was so sad when...
I can’t wait for tomorrow. Husband, sister, her boyfriend, all the dogs, and I are going to my aunts’ house. It is my happy place and I love my time with them and there. Of the many perks 3 of my favorites are 1) the lack of wireless access so no iphones allowed 2) the fire pit to make smores in and 3) it’s proximity to Yosemite. Sister and I are planning on taking the dogs to...

Getting ready for work and crossing my fingers it doesn’t storm too much on my way in. Headlights, darkness, and rain are not a good combo for me. I have an appt next week to get my eyes checked to see if I need glasses. I have a feeling the answer is going to be yes. Maybe if I get them I will stop squinting at the TV and start being able to read the basketball scores myself.

Here’s my secret.
For more years than I care to admit, I was in an abusive relationship. Rarely was it physical. Instead, I was with someone who liked to find girls at their most vulnerable and convince them that they were worthless, less than human, and that he was a sort of saint for being with them. It started in high school and every time I tried to get out of it,...

I completely understand that the year after winning a national championship title is typically a rebuilding year. I get that. I’m not trying to be greedy.
I just want the Heels to stop playing like high schoolers.
That is all.
That is what I keep hoping for, too. I don’t know that it will happen this season.
Today was a rough day for husband and there is not much I can do about it. The stuff that goes on at his work is just so stupid. I would like nothing more than for him to find something that he enjoys and somewhere where he is appreciated but that won’t be happening for awhile cause he wants to stay for a certain amount of time. So I made him tea and I am making eggs and bacon and hashbrowns...

That show just makes me barf.
Everyone on my last unit loved this show. I just kept my mouth shut when they talked about it because the last thing I wanted to do was make everyone that worked there hate me because I thought the show was crap.
Watching the Carolina game and although it is not the disaster that was Georgia Tech, it is afar more effective game to watch and lose a bit of hope. They aren’t playing so bad that they don’t look like they have seen a basketball before. They just look out classed, by Wake Forest. I’m not sure it will click for this team because if they can’t storm out onto home court and...
