Off for some relaxation. I plan on drinking with lunch, drinking at cocktail hour, and drinking with dinner. After last night, it sounds so, so good. Husband may have to support me as I totter around tipsy in my sky high heels. I also plan on taking lots of photos, doing lots of kissing, and lots of nothing. See you on the flip side.
Super crazy night at work last night. I would have bet money that it was a full moon and lost. I didn’t get a chance to sit all night, or drink water, or eat, and I only left the unit once to go to the bathroom. 2 doctors had to be called in, this was in addition to the one that was there overnight, and I didn’t even get a chance to start charting until 5. Which turned out to be silly...
NYE is going to be a laid back night for us and I am sure it will be a lot of fun. Of the NYEs we have spent together, my favorite was a couple of years ago. We both love Chicago and the Raconteurs were playing a NYE concert there. We hopped on a plane the morning of the 30th, had dinner at Charlie Trotters, went to Wicked the afternoon of the 31st, went to see the concert that night, and left for...

I got some bad news about my mom’s health this morning. She has had health problems her whole life but the last year or so had been pretty good for her. Problems came back, new problems started up, and now a new diagnoses. I wish we still lived in the same area so that I could give her a hug and just be with her. I hate having my parents live in a different state. I...

There is a patient on my unit that I want to talk about so very bad. Stupid confidentiality. Let’s just say that I have fallen head over heels for one of the babies. If it goes missing you know who’s bag to check.
I can’t wait for Thursday. We are heading up the Russian River Valley for NYE and plan on relaxing, eating, and wine tasting. It is one of my favorite areas for a weekend trip. Close to SF and not as crowded as Napa. I cannot wait. I need a break, a chance to recharge, and most of all some time with husband. One drawback of working nights is that I don’t get to spend as much time with...
We’ve had a whole bunch of new people move into the apartments on our floor. Last night husband was cleaning the kitchen after I went to work, so around 11pm, and security came and knocked on the door and said that someone complained about him being to loud. First, it’s not like he was playing rockband or making the dog jump up and down. He was doing the dishes and running the...
they are disappointing chocolate-chip fake-outs.
– the doctor, explaining to my family my dislike of raisins. does he know me, or does he KNOW ME?
that is exactly on point. i get so excited, and then it’s this gummy dead fruit and not chocolate-y goodness. epic let down.

Agreed.
It's my birthday!
remarkablelulu:
Yes, today is my 26th birthday and I’ve been trying desperately to post on Tumblr but my internet has been down for THREE WHOLE DAYS! Hopefully I will be back soon but in the meantime, happy birthday to me! (And Kayla!)
Happy Birthday! Can’t wait til you are posting again since we share an affinity for turquoise and blue and cute dogs.

when I find good sale.
when someone rubs my head.
when I sleep late.
when someone makes me laugh.
when I am snuggled under the covers.
when I spend the day watching football.
when people tell you exactly what the mean or feel or are thinking.
when I get to cook for a big group of people.
when conversations last so long that I lose track of time.
when I find exactly the right...
Turnovers, inability to score, big men who don’t seem to be able to play strong…this team is so young and so frustrating. Rutgers cutting the lead to within 6? Enough to make me sit on the edge of my seat and grit my teeth. It is going to be an interesting season. We have been so dominate for the last couple of years that I forgot what it was like to watch a team that isn’t used...
I love watching the boys play but the turnovers kill me. Also, missing fireflys and the smell of honeysuckle. People are always surprised that I loved living in North Carolina because I am such a bay area girl but I don’t think they are exclusive. They both have a place in my heart.
I am very, very annoyed that they are still showing a football game instead of the Carolina game. Georgia is up by 30, does anyone really need to keep watching? I don’t want to spoil it but Georgia wins. Now go to the Dean Dome.
Ordering Papa John’s, watching Carolina basketball, and pretending I am back in Chapel Hill for the night.
Happy Birthday Alishan! Not to be all creepy and stalker like but I have followed your blog since before I had one and your sense of humor and sarcasm always make me laugh. So even though I don’t know you I feel the need to send best wishes your way. Drink lots of gin and have lots of fun!
I don’t understand how someone can decide they don’t want their baby. How they can say this one is sick, he’s not perfect, we are giving her up. How parents can decide to never hold their baby, how they decide to let him go through pain without giving love, how they let her not have a home. I give what I can but I’m only here so often with so much time to cuddle and love....
I’m looking for a new facewash. I currently use one by Mario Bedusco but got a clarisonic skin care brush for the holidays and I need a facewash without scrubby bits in it. I have acne breakouts around my period and my skin tends to run on the dry side. Anyone with similar skin/knowledge about skin products have any recommendations?
I’ve read a lot of books this year and I was trying to think of my favorites but I can’t seem to keep track of what I read year to year. I think I should get one of those online libraries so I can keep track of what I read, liked, and didn’t like. Here are a few of my favorites that I read this year.
1. Gone Away World-Hilarious and thought provoking. I read a lot of apocyliptic...
I’ve had constant headaches since going of the pill a couple of months ago. I am not sure why that would happen and maybe the two aren’t tied together but it seems a bit coincedental. I’m not sure whether it is something to actually talk to a doctor about having my head pounding on a consistent basis is turning me into a bit of a grump.
Goals for 2010:
Buy a house/condo. This one may be out of reach since housing in the Bay Area is super ridiculous and with where husband and I work we are trying to stick the peninsula and San Francisco. The plan is to start the process May/June.
Get pregnant. Have a healthy, term baby. I feel the need to be clear on the healthy and term part. Also, if we manage to get pregnant next year but the...
Husband logged onto work only to have the only other person on the server tell him that his wife asked for a divorce yesterday. Who thinks Christmas is the right time to do that? And they have a kid, doesn’t that ruin the day for the kid too? Even if they don’t tell him, it is not like you can really hide something that big emotionally. I asked the same question about timing when a...
I can’t wait for NYE. I work 8 of 9 days and then I finally have a few off starting the 31st. I’m hoping to do more than sleep. So far we have dinner in the Russian River Valley planned. There is a really cute spot up there, Zazu, that we are going to do for a laid back dinner. They had me at churros made to order served with spicy hot chocolate. Yes please! We haven’t had a...
Just finished watching 500 days of summer and I really liked it. It had the same naration style as Pushing Daisies which I am a total sucker for. It was cute and different.Joseph Gordon-Levitt was really good and it made me want to watch Brick again. It was pretty emo so if you have a thing against that then it is not the movie for you.
My cousin just told my grandmother she's engaged:
elizablr:
Cousin: Granny, I need to tell you something. Granny: Yes, what is it? Cousin: I’m pregnant. Granny: Looks like she’s about have a heart attack and we all wonder who’s going to do the CPR. Cousin: Just kidding! I’m engaged! Is that better? Granny: Yes!
Not two minutes later, my Grandfather turns to me and says, “All I have to say is, you better be next.” And to think, I thought...
I just saw someone driving a camel down the freeway. I called husband and told him that someone was getting away with his Christmas present. That and a magic carpet would make his life complete.
Made brussel sprouts with smokey onions on cheese toast for dinner and it is delicious. I can’t believe there was a time when I thought I didn’t like brussel sprouts.
